Selling social media in your organization

Strange. The conference on integrating social media in government being held in Ottawa seems to have a lot Government of Ontario people attending. It’s the ALI Social Media for Government conference, and a whack of people have made the 400 km trek to be in grey and slightly cold Ottawa to listen to a stellar lineup of self-assured blowhards.

Since I try to follow the 10/20/30 rule, you likely won’t be able to use this presentation as a moving backdrop to your spoken word denunciation of the egos and self-importance of “social media gurus.”

I will let you in on a secret, however: everything I learned about public speaking I learned by participating in “subway debates” at Trinity College.
